Introduction

4U2C Signs is a Pretoria-based signage and vehicle-branding company specialising in commercial vehicle branding, truck and fleet graphics, vehicle wraps, reflective markings, signage, number plates and rubber stamps.

We work with commercial vehicle dealerships, transport operators and fleet customers across South Africa. Our focus is on delivering strong visual branding that is technically accurate, production-ready and consistently reproducible across individual vehicles and large fleets.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a skilled and technically grounded Vehicle Branding & Production Designer to join our team on a full-time, office-based basis in Pretoria.

This is a hands-on, production-focused design role. You will take vehicle and fleet-branding projects from the initial client brief through concept development, client presentations, revisions and approval — and ultimately prepare technically accurate, production-ready artwork for our production team.

If you are a creative designer who understands that great vehicle branding must also work — on the actual vehicle, through print, cutting, application and fleet replication — we want to hear from you.

Duties & Responsibilities

To design, develop and prepare vehicle and fleet-branding artwork that is both visually compelling and technically production-ready.

The successful candidate will understand that vehicle branding must work practically — not only look attractive. Artwork must suit the physical shape and panel layout of the vehicle, print and cut correctly, apply cleanly and be reproducible consistently across fleet rollouts.

The role will primarily involve commercial vehicles, including trucks, bakkies, vans, trailers and fleet vehicles, with additional signage-related design work when required.

Creative & Client-Facing

  • Interpret client briefs and develop original vehicle and fleet-branding concepts
  • Create professional vehicle mock-ups and client presentations
  • Design branding that works with the shape, panels and physical characteristics of each vehicle
  • Handle client revisions efficiently and professionally
  • Adapt approved designs across different vehicle makes, models and fleet configurations
  • Maintain strong visual consistency across fleet rollouts
  • Assist with signage and other related creative requirements when required

Technical & Production

  • Scale artwork accurately from vehicle photographs, templates and physical measurements
  • Prepare artwork at the correct scale and specification for production
  • Prepare panel layouts, bleed areas and overlaps
  • Create accurate cut paths
  • Prepare print files, cut files and print-and-cut files
  • Prepare vehicle adaptations and fleet rollout artwork
  • Handle reprints and replacement panel artwork
  • Complete routine artwork changes and basic branding updates
  • Specify colours, materials and finishes where required
  • Calculate approximate material areas to assist with quotations and production planning
  • Proof spelling, measurements, registration numbers, fleet numbers and vehicle-specific details before production
  • Maintain proper file naming, version control and archiving
  • Provide complete and accurate artwork handovers to the Production team

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Approximately 5+ years of professional graphic design experience preferred
  • Vehicle branding, signage and/or large-format print experience strongly preferred
  • Ideally 3+ years of directly relevant industry experience
  • Available portfolio is compulsory — applications without a portfolio will not be considered

Package & Remuneration

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Creative and visually strong
  • Technically minded and production-aware
  • Accountable and reliable
  • Organised and structured
  • Detail-oriented and accurate
  • Deadline conscious
  • Able to prioritise effectively under pressure
  • Comfortable working across both original creative concepts and repetitive fleet adaptations
  • Open to feedback and able to implement revisions efficiently
  • Comfortable communicating when information is missing or when a deadline is at risk
  • Curious about technology and actively interested in improving the design process
