Senior Brand & Product Designer

We're looking for a Senior Brand and Product Designer who brings ideas to life through exceptional craft and strategic thinking. You'll help shape how Valkyrie looks, feels, and communicates—designing cohesive brand experiences and product interfaces that balance beauty with purpose, while translating complex scientific and technical ideas into clear, elegant visual systems.

This is a versatile, high-ownership role at a growing applied science firm. You'll move between brand identity, marketing and product design, and the day-to-day visual work that keeps a fast-moving company running. If you love sharp UX, strong typography, and the chance to put your fingerprints on a brand that's still being built, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

Brand & Visual Identity

  • Design and evolve scalable brand systems including logos, typography, color palettes, and visual guidelines across Valkyrie and sub-brands
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive brand guidelines that ensure consistency across teams and touchpoints
  • Ensure brand consistency while enabling thoughtful creative expression across mediums

Marketing & Collateral

  • Design pitch decks, executive presentations, and proposals that win business and communicate complex ideas with clarity
  • Produce one-pagers, case studies, sales sheets, and other client-facing collateral
  • Create marketing materials, campaign assets, and digital content that embody our brand voice
  • Design merch, event materials, and internal swag that builds culture and brand affinity
  • Jump in on the wide range of visual needs that come with a growing company—from social graphics to conference booths

Product & Interface Design

  • Design user interfaces that prioritize usability, accessibility, and aesthetic excellence
  • Contribute to and maintain design systems, component libraries, and pattern documentation
  • Prototype and communicate interaction concepts clearly to product and engineering teams
  • Collaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, and product leaders to translate technical capabilities into intuitive user experiences

Senior Brand & Product Designer Qualifications

We encourage candidates to apply even if they don't have 100% of the below qualifications. We believe in a holistic approach when evaluating talent for our team and post new roles often, so even if this role isn't quite right, we want to meet you!

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Graphic Design, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in visual design, with demonstrated range across brand, marketing, and product/UX work
  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
  • A strong portfolio showcasing versatility across branding, marketing collateral, and UX/product design
  • Strong foundation in typography, layout, color theory, and visual hierarchy
  • Experience building and maintaining scalable design systems
  • Ability to prototype and communicate interaction concepts effectively
  • Collaborative mindset with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort moving between high-craft brand work and quick-turn production design

Nice-to-haves:

  • Motion design or animation capabilities
  • Front-end knowledge (HTML/CSS)
  • Experience designing for data-heavy or AI/ML-driven products
  • Background working in fast-paced, iterative startup or consulting environments

Perks:

  • Tremendous growth potential
  • Open and unlimited PTO & Sick time
  • Flexible hours, work from home as needed
  • Medical, dental, vision, & HSA options
  • 401K
  • Parking Included
  • Onsite gym & showers
  • Stocked kitchen with healthy snacks, drinks, coffee, etc
  • Team events including happy hours, catered lunches, and other fun outings
  • Innovative, collaborative, and fun work environment that fosters a positive and supportive culture for growth
