JOB PURPOSE

We are looking for an Assistant Brand Manager to support the Senior Brand Manager in leading innovations and communications across global markets (excluding North America, India and China), representing a significant €843m business. We have ambitious growth plans to expand our market share and penetration while future fitting the brand, and an ambition to Double Dove in Asia.
This position offers plenty of scope for independent leadership and clearly ownable deliverables. You'll need to be a strong communicator to work in a multi-cultural setting and across different functions (CMI, Supply Chain, R&D, Finance, Packaging & Creative agencies); a creative thinker with a can-do attitude to lead and build project teams that deliver communication and innovation plans for the brand.
You'll be able to develop an in-depth understanding of the category in key markets and the differing consumer and business environments and how this translates into the growth strategy for the brand. We are looking for someone who has strong leadership skills, with a naturally proactive attitude, passion for consumers and strong business acumen.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Building a holistic understanding of consumers and turning these into insights for communication, innovation and growth opportunities whilst ensuring that they are aligned with the local market ambitions and to the Global Category Strategy and Brand Vision
• Analysis of brand and market performance, competitors and trends to identify gaps and opportunities proactively to drive/grow the brand in key markets (Brazil, UK, China)
• Strategic thinking, full mix development and successful implementation of growth strategy to drive business impact
• Project management and budget management
ALL ABOUT YOU
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Marketing discipline would be advantageous
• Experience in branding/marketing with the ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams at the same time
• Experience in craftsmanship of concepts and innovation mixes
• Relevant experience working in / passion for beauty, skincare or personal care with an eye for beauty preferred
• Proven track record of strong project management skills and collaboration with different parts of the business to deliver business goals. Global x-functional project management preferred.
• Digital/social & consumer engagement awareness are key to this role as part of crafting the step-change in communication
• The ability to immerse yourself in the lives of our consumers and shoppers, understanding their pain points, needs, and desires, what delights them to craft the most relevant innovations and comms.
• Strong commercial acumen, understanding of the P&L and building global business cases.
• Able to work well in uncertainty and ability to work independently with agility
Location
In September 2020, Unilever announced the intention to build a new sustainable campus site in Kingston, London to house the employees who currently work in 100 Victoria Embankment in Blackfriars, Lever House in Kingston, Unilever House in Leatherhead and Graze in Richmond. We are creating our own Unilever sustainable, agile work environment, purposefully bringing us together in our own Unilever ecosystem. The campus is due to be completed in early 2025 and will consist of two interconnected buildings, as well as landscaped surrounding areas.

Recruitment Fraud
Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
How is Unilever tackling this?
Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
