JOB TITLE: Marketing & Brand Director

SUMMARY: This is a well-established leadership role for creative, seasoned professionals with a proven history of building strong brands, developing compelling content strategies, and maximizing impact across diverse distribution channels. The ideal candidate will be an initiative-taking, collaborative, and strategic leader, capable of engaging effectively with directors and executive team members to align priorities, negotiate solutions, and drive success while ensuring consistency across all initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and uphold Lambda Chi Alpha’s brand identity, ensuring consistency across all marketing channels, materials, and messaging.
- Lead and oversee content strategy for all Lambda Chi Alpha marketing channels, including print, digital, and video assets, ensuring messaging aligns with the organization’s mission and values.

- Serve as Editor of Cross & Crescent magazine, providing strategic direction on content themes, article selection, and design review for two print editions and up to two digital editions annually.
- Supervise the production of key marketing materials, ensuring high-quality execution while delegating tactical tasks to the appropriate team members.
- Guide data-driven marketing strategies, leveraging analytics to optimize audience engagement and campaign effectiveness (i.e., Google Analytics/AI tools).
- Oversee Lambda Chi’s digital marketing efforts, including website management, social media strategy, email marketing, and online advertising (based on budget allocation), ensuring teams execute effectively.
- Develop and document standardized marketing processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and team collaboration.
- Establish clear workflows for campaign execution, brand management, content creation, and digital strategy to ensure consistency across all marketing initiatives.
- Regularly review and update marketing documentation to align with industry best practices and organizational changes.
- Collaborate with internal, director-level leadership and cross-functional teams to align marketing initiatives with strategic priorities and key organizational objectives.
- Manage and allocate the marketing budget strategically, ensuring maximum impact and efficient resource use.
- Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and innovation.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
1. Brand Consistency and Perception
- Maintain brand application consistency of 90%+ based on internal audits and stakeholder feedback.
- Improve brand awareness, reputation, and favorability metrics as measured through annual audit and social media sentiment analysis (i.e., Sprout Listening).
- Ensure 100% alignment of brand messaging across all marketing team-produced materials to Lambda Chi Alpha’s mission, impact, and values.
2. Campaign Performance
- Establish a baseline and achieve 10% increase in engagement (likes, shares, comments) on marketing campaigns across targeted platforms.
- Demonstrate direct contribution of marketing efforts to key organizational metrics.
3. Audience Engagement and Relationship Management
- Maintain or improve engagement metrics across digital and print channels (open rates, click-through rates, social shares, survey feedback).
- Achieve an 80%+ satisfaction rate from key stakeholders (members, alumni, parents, volunteers) through surveys (when appropriate).
4. Digital Marketing Performance
- Increase website traffic by 15% within six months of the new website launch and maintain a bounce rate of 30% or below through improved content strategy.
- Achieve consistent growth in social media (Instagram/LinkedIn) follower engagement with at least 5% total platform growth per quarter.
- Maintain email conversion rates of at least 5% per marketing-specific campaigns.
5. Cross & Crescent Performance
- Oversee publishing of two print editions and up to two digital editions annually.
- Track and increase benchmark numbers in digital readership and engagement (digital views, downloads, social shares).
- Maintain high-quality content standards, ensuring at least an 80%+ positive feedback score from readers via annual readership surveys.
6. Budget Management
- Maintain budget utilization within ±10% variance (of fixed budget set as of July 1) to ensure strategic allocation of resources.
- Demonstrate a measurable ROI for major marketing initiatives, ensuring funds are effectively driving impact.
7. Process Documentation and Optimization
- Complete documentation of all core marketing processes by Q3 FY26.
- Ensure 100% of marketing team members are trained on documented processes.
- Achieve a 10% reduction in workflow inefficiencies (fewer revisions, faster turnaround times, reduced errors).
- Maintain quarterly updates to key process documents to keep them current and relevant.
These KPIs will serve as benchmarks for evaluating the Marketing & Brand Director’s performance and contribution to Lambda Chi Alpha's marketing goals and objectives.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly supervises 1-3 employees within the Marketing team.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and assisting with training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor’s degree in marketing, or a related field, and a minimum of 5 years’ marketing, branding, or public relations experience, is required.
- Candidates are also required to have at least 2+ years of supervisory experience, be able to demonstrate success in leading teams, and have budget management knowledge.
- Experience working within Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, Salesforce/Marketing Cloud, and various marketing platforms preferred.
- Fraternity/sorority membership preferred but not required.
The position is a full-time, exempt position located in the Lambda Chi Alpha Office of Administration in Carmel, IN. Job responsibilities and tasks for this position are subject to change based on the needs of the organization and at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer.
