smartdept. is searching for a Brand + Marketing Manager for a branding and marketing consultancy client located in Los Angeles / Kern County, CA. The ideal candidate will come with 5+ years of experience in brand management, content strategy, or marketing. This is a full-time, hybrid opportunity requiring weekly presence in Bakersfield. 

The Brand + Marketing Manager will operate at the intersection of strategy and execution, managing client accounts from concept through delivery. This individual will lead content strategy, oversee creative direction, manage project pipelines, and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring all brand and marketing work aligns with business objectives and high-quality standards.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage day-to-day brand and marketing initiatives across assigned client accounts

  • Develop and execute content strategies aligned with client goals and brand positioning

  • Write and edit marketing copy across digital channels, including social media and brand communications

  • Coordinate with creative teams to guide design, content, and campaign execution

  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and content pipelines from concept through launch

  • Serve as a primary client contact, maintaining proactive communication and relationship management

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen brand visibility and messaging across platforms

  • Brief creative teams and provide clear strategic direction for campaigns and content

  • Maintain high standards of brand consistency and storytelling across all deliverables

What You’ll Need:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in brand management, marketing strategy, or content strategy

  • Experience managing multiple client accounts or stakeholders simultaneously

  • Strong copywriting and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt to multiple brand voices

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including design, marketing, and leadership

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience working in a creative agency or brand consultancy

  • Background in real estate, hospitality, CPG, or community-focused brands

  • Strong eye for brand aesthetics, design direction, and visual storytelling

  • Experience working with social media management tools and content scheduling platforms

  • Familiarity with brand strategy frameworks and campaign planning
