The Senior Content Specialist – Brand Storyteller strengthens Texas A&M’s voice in the world, ensuring its stories, achievements, and mission are communicated with clarity, impact and authenticity, directly supporting our institution’s goals. They write, edit and curate content to help drive connection and shape how the world sees, feels and talks about Texas A&M through compelling storytelling. This position serves as a primary architect of compelling narratives, collaborating widely with internal and external partners.

Responsibilities

Multi-channel Story Architecture & Brand Communication

  • Develop story concepts that reflect the authentic voices and experiences of Texas A&M, translating these into emotive, human-centered narratives that drive audience connection

  • Architect and tailor stories for distribution across a range of channels, including web, social media, video, print and more – ensuring content is platform appropriate and engaging

  • Uphold and enhance Texas A&M’s brand platform, ensuring consistent voice, style and messaging in every story and communication asset

  • Serve as editorial lead and brand steward for major multi-channel campaigns and signature content initiatives

Strategic Collaboration and Content Execution

  • Work closely with brand marketing, creative, web, digital, and communications teams to synchronize story delivery across all platforms, maximizing reach and resonance

  • Assist in the development of content calendars, mapping stories to key institutional priorities and audience touchpoints

  • Source engaging content from institutional stakeholders; dive deep to highlight individual and institutional achievements, research breakthroughs, student experiences and moments of community and A&M culture

Analytics, Optimization & Brand Consistency

  • Use audience data and analytics to guide story selection, format, and channel strategy, continually refining approaches for stronger impact and connection

  • Champion brand consistency by reviewing and refining all content for adherence to Texas A&M’s platform standards, visual identity, and core messaging pillars

  • Partner with digital teams to ensure all content is optimized for accessibility, SEO, and the unique engagement patterns of each platform

Qualifications

 Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, journalism, marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Five years of progressive experience in strategic communications, content development or storytelling in a multi-channel environment 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success architecting and executing emotive, human-focused multi-channel campaigns

  • Experience producing multimedia content

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Mastery of written and visual storytelling, with a talent for evoking emotion and creating authentic audience connection

  • Deep understanding of multi-platform content distribution (web, video, social, print, email, etc.)

  • Excellent knowledge of brand platform communication; voice, messaging pillars, and visual standards

  • Strong project management and editorial judgement – able to navigate from story concept to cross-channel execution independently

  • Collaborative spirit and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams and with many stakeholders

  • Experience using analytics and insights to guide and optimize content strategy

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Understanding of principles of animation and templates building

  • Understanding of social media strategy

  • Ability to create print specifications, obtain print bids, prep files for printing, oversee proofing and production and perform press checks

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Passion for and deep understanding of Texas A&M’s mission, values, and culture
