Purpose of the role:

  • Support the Global Sustainability Manager in delivering MSX’s sustainability roadmap by contributing to ESG data collection, analysis, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives (environmental, social and governance).
  • Support People & Culture and Communications teams in strengthening MSX’s employer branding by creating sustainability-related content and helping communicate our purpose, impact and culture internally and externally.
  • Help ensure key sustainability messages are accurate, consistent and aligned with applicable frameworks and internal standards.

Key activities and responsibilities:

  • Collect, validate and organize ESG data from internal stakeholders (e.g., HR, Facilities, Procurement, Finance, IT) to support sustainability KPIs and reporting.
  • Contribute to the preparation of sustainability disclosures and materials (e.g., annual sustainability report, CSRD/ESRS readiness work, client questionnaires, EcoVadis/ratings support).
  • Support carbon footprint initiatives by gathering activity data (energy, travel, commuting, waste) and assisting with calculations aligned with the GHG Protocol.
  • Help maintain documentation, evidence packs, and audit trails for sustainability programs, certifications and client requirements.
  • Support the rollout of internal sustainability initiatives (awareness campaigns, training, volunteering, green office practices) and track engagement and impact.
  • Conduct research and benchmarking on sustainability trends, regulations and best practices relevant to MSX and our clients.
  • Create and coordinate employer branding content focused on sustainability and culture (e.g., LinkedIn posts, career site content, internal news, presentations, short interviews/testimonials).
  • Support employer branding campaigns and events (career fairs, university partnerships, webinars), including planning, communications, and post-event reporting.
  • Collaborate with People & Culture/Recruiting to integrate sustainability themes into candidate communications, onboarding materials and the employee value proposition.
  • Monitor basic performance metrics (reach, engagement, click-through, applicant feedback) and propose improvements based on insights.
  • Work cross-functionally with international teams; manage priorities effectively and communicate progress clearly to stakeholders.
  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement by proposing pragmatic, data-driven solutions that increase impact and efficiency.
  • Handle ad hoc tasks and projects with a proactive, can-do attitude, ensuring high quality and attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences/Engineering, Business/Economics, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Additional courses or certifications in ESG, climate, sustainability reporting, or communications are a plus (e.g., GRI/ESRS intro, GHG Protocol training).

Experience:  

  • Previous internship, thesis project or extracurricular experience in sustainability/ESG, CSR, reporting, or environmental data analysis.
  • Experience creating communication content (university projects, social media, newsletters, presentations) is a strong plus.

Knowledge:  

  • Basic understanding of ESG topics and sustainability reporting concepts; familiarity with frameworks/regulation is a plus (CSRD, ESRS, GRI, SASB/ISSB, UN SDGs).
  • Basic knowledge of climate and carbon accounting concepts (Scopes 1–3, emissions factors); familiarity with the GHG Protocol is a plus.

Technical Skills: 

  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills (data cleaning, pivot tables, basic formulas); ability to work with datasets accurately.
  • Good PowerPoint/Google Slides skills (clear storytelling and visual layout).
  • Content creation tools are a plus (Canva, Adobe suite) and/or social media scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite/Buffer).
  • Comfortable working in MS Office / Google Workspace and collaborating in tools such as Teams/Slack, SharePoint/Drive.

Languages:

  • Native/near-native Italian (written and spoken) and fluent English (written and spoken) – English is essential for working with international stakeholders.
  • Additional languages (e.g., Spanish, French, German) are a plus.
