Business Overview

The Marketing Division leads branding, brand asset creation, marketing, and membership as a cross-group organization with a mission to expand Rakuten Group's membership value and ecosystem of over 70 services.

Department Overview

The main objective of the Brand Enhancement Department is to cultivate an external image of Rakuten that aligns with the Rakuten Group’s brand identity. This objective is implemented in both domestic and international communications to enhance Rakuten brand preference as well as the synergy among group entities, specifically targeting the domestic market in Japan.

Drawing from diverse quantitative and qualitative statistical and analytical data, our goal is to develop communication strategies that enable customers to truly understand and appreciate Rakuten Group's mission. By fostering empathy and excitement for Rakuten Group's ethos and vision, we aim to encourage greater engagement with services within the Rakuten Ecosystem.

We are seeking individuals who are eager to take on the challenge of branding for the prominent brand "Rakuten". In this position, your primary focus will be on external brand communication initiatives within Japan, as part of the various branding activities carried out by Rakuten.

You will have the opportunity to experience comprehensive tasks such as formulating and executing new plans and initiatives based on data-driven trends and logical hypotheses. Additionally, you will be responsible for implementing and continuously improving operations, including the PDCA cycle.

Furthermore, you will collaborate with various stakeholders within the organization who have different roles and objectives, to drive and enhance the impact of our outputs.

Position Details

- Plan, execute, and oversee external communication initiatives aimed at enhancing perception and fostering favorable impressions based on Rakuten's brand identity.

- Manage multiple projects and tasks effectively as a project manager, adept at multitasking.

- Collaborate and negotiate with various stakeholders within the organization to establish long-term collaborative relationships and maximize the impact of outputs.

- Actively engage in problem-solving through data analysis and logical thinking-based PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act).

- Produce materials such as RFPs, guidelines, and processes for group-wide projects.

- Contribute to strengthening the overall brand governance of the group by serving as a branding liaison between headquarters and each business unit.

Mandatory Qualifications:

- Experience in branding or marketing roles (3 years or more).

- Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data, and logical thinking.

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience in digital marketing

- Experience in global branding.

- Experience in headquarters departments.

- Experience in the IT and digital industry.

- Experience in web creative production.
