The Group Financial Controller oversees financial operations, develops strategies, and provides financial guidance to support organisational goals. The role is responsible for managing budgets, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role requires strong attention to detail, proactivity and the ability to build strong relationships within the team and the rest of the business. This role has responsibility for both the Landor and CBA offices in Milan, Italy, along with any future Landor Group offices which may open in the country. This role is supported by the WPP SSC (Shared Service Centre) infrastructure which provides transactional and statutory reporting services.

 

What you’ll do 

We are seeking a highly motivated Financial Controller to oversee the financial health of Landor Group Agencies. This role is responsible for all aspects of financial control and reporting, including monthly close processes, billing management, revenue analysis, SOX compliance, budget preparation, and profitability analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to lead and mentor a team. You will also partner with key stakeholders across the business and wider WPP network.

As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the monthly close and reporting process.
  • Overseeing billing and revenue accruals.
  • Ensuring SOX compliance.
  • Preparing budgets and forecasts.
  • Analyzing client profitability.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Leading and developing the finance team.
  • Partnering with stakeholders across the business and WPP.

 Strong balance of thought and action 

Required Experience

 Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or local equivalent). 
 Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel 
 Accomplished experience ideally in an agency finance function, leading a team 
 A strong understanding of IFRS15 required 
 Strong experience of SOX controls required 
 Strong technical knowledge of P&L and Balance sheet 
 Experience working in branding agency advantageous
 Advanced level of English and Italian both written and spoken
