POSITION TITLE: Director of Brand Development FLSA Status: Exempt


POSITION SUMMARY:

Cima’s Director of Brand Development will lead brand driven initiatives that bridge creativity, engineering, and client strategy. This role will serve as a critical liaison between design, estimating, and sales, ensuring that new concepts are both innovative and executable. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core Responsibilities

  • Concept Development and Client Engagement
  • Partner with design peers, sales and estimating teams to develop innovative signage and environmental branding concepts for new RFPs and client opportunities. 
  • Translate client brand guidelines and standards into scalable systems and architectural design concepts that reflect both creative vision and manufacturability.
  • Lead concept presentations and participate in collaborative deign workshops to establish creative direction and technical feasibility.
  • Demonstrate ability to implement creative vision/direction from collaborative ideation with VP of Design & Branding or ideate conceptually in and autonomous manner where required or established.

Design System and Standards

  • Develop comprehensive signage systems, materials, lighting integrations, and design standards to inform estimating and design engineering teams. 
  • Author and maintain design intent and standard documentation to ensure consistency and efficiency across multiple client programs.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to bridge aesthetic intent with technical precision.

Collaboration

  • Work closely and collaboratively with the VP of Design and/or Director of Design Engineering on high-level design concepts, special projects, and prototyping initiatives.
  • Support interdisciplinary collaboration between design, production, and project management to ensure smooth transitions from concept to execution.
  • Provide creative and strategic solutions in response to evolving client and market needs.

Strategic Brand integration

  • Lead design initiatives with agency partners and clients to ensure branding systems
  • Act as an internal advocate for design excellence and brand consistency across all client programs.
  • Stay ahead of emerging design trends, materials, and fabrication technologies
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, Environmental Design, Architecture, or related field. 
  • Alternatively,10+ years of experience in signage design, environmental branding, or architectural graphics—preferably in a manufacturing or design-build environment. 
  • Strong understanding of signage fabrication processes, lighting systems, materials, and structural considerations. 
  • Proven ability to balance creativity with technical and budgetary constraints. 
  • Exceptional visual communication and presentation skills. 
  • Expert level of proficiency in CorelDraw, Adobe Creative Suite, Solidworks, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar visualization tools. 
  • Demonstrated leadership and/or collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle controls (keyboard, phone); and talk or hear. Occasional standing, walking, stooping is required. Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.
