To drive the strategic development, profitability, and growth of the assigned product Category across Consumer channels (FMCG, DIY, Stationery, Digital). This includes end-to-end category strategy, new product development, packaging, pricing, market analysis, innovation rollout, and support for new market development in line with global brand direction and performance targets
Category / Channel Strategy
•Contribute to 5-year strategic and annual roll-out plans across regions
•Collaborate with internal global teams on category development
•Track KPIs and performance across regions; ensure consistent execution
•Conduct regular market visits and attend industry trade shows
Category Management
•Monitor category turnover, gross profit, and margin value contribution (MVC)
•Analyze competitive landscape and ensure a winning product offer
•Guide pricing alignment for global accounts and local markets
•Share best POS practices and shelf planning support with regions
•Ensure consistency in branding and packaging
Product Development & Innovation
•Own the NPD process for the category, feeding with insights and ideas
•Collaborate with R&D, Purchasing and suppliers to optimize cost and product quality
•Manage global product lifecycle and maintain relevant product offerings
•Ensure innovation pipeline aligns with global strategy and market trends
Packaging & Layout Design
•Redesign and update product packaging layouts for competitiveness
•Approve local designs to maintain brand and product name consistency
•Introduce innovative packaging formats and evaluate new suppliers
•Conduct consumer testing to validate packaging appeal
Trade & Market Support
•Monitor RSP (Retail Selling Price) and define corrective actions
•Adapt product offers to outperform competitors
•Support regional sales and marketing teams with insights and materials
•Facilitate smooth category performance tracking and reporting
Daily Tasks
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Manufacturing, Sales, Supply Chain)
•Drive execution of category strategy across all channels
•Ensure adherence to global brand, pricing, and innovation guidelines
•Liaise with internal stakeholders and external partners to implement initiatives
•Review and update packaging, product ranges, and marketing content
•Track performance metrics, competitor activity, and market trends
•Prepare and present reports, proposals, and insights to senior stakeholders
Matric (Grade 12)
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field
•4–6 years of experience in Marketing
•Experience in global multinational companies preferred
•Exposure to DIY, Consumer, FMCG, or adjacent industries beneficial
Market Related
