The Rolex SailGP Championship is the most exciting racing on water, where anything can happen in short, adrenaline-fueled battles between national teams at iconic stadium destinations worldwide. Top athletes fly in identical high-tech F50 catamarans faster than the wind, at speeds approaching 60 mph. Founded in 2018, SailGP is one of the world’s fastest-growing sports and entertainment properties, now in its fifth season.




SailGP Technologies began as the high performance design, engineering and manufacturing arm of SailGP and has led the way in high-performance applied innovation.


Our constantly evolving design, composites engineering, software and data expertise is rooted in decades of experience at the forefront of cutting-edge sail racing. Previously established and located in New Zealand since 2001, SailGP Technologies relocated to Southampton, UK in Spring 2024 at our new state of the art facility.


Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Sports Branding Manager to join our dynamic team. This role involves managing all aspects of team and on-water branding across multiple assets and locations. Ensuring consistent brand presentation throughout all SailGP events. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vinyl graphic/wrapping and signage installation, general event branding, and leading installation teams.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the branding of all team and on-water assets, including:
    • F50 fleet
    • Team bases
    • Chase boats
    • Race course markers
  • Oversee procurement and installation of all branding elements
  • Coordinate with local contractors for on-site installation
  • Manage global branding installers for on-site installation
  • Collaborate with the internal design team and team services to manage briefs, obtain quotations, schedule and arrange team-requested branding delivery
  • Engage with local printing companies to source high-quality materials and products in the most economical manner.
  • Ensure all partnership contractual deliverables are fulfilled
  • Work with SailGP technologies to maintain appropriate F50 branding inventory and stock
  • Support boat maintenance teams to ensure F50 branding meets team and league requirements within critical deadlines
  • Develop long term processes to drive to lower departmental costs, working efficiently and in a sustainable manner
  • Manage team base branding from conception to install and invoicing. Working alongside Team Services for branding requests, requirements and install
  • Brief SailGP creative team to outline key design deliverables
  • Set-up, manage and maintain on-site inventory of vinyl graphic stock and installation tools at SailGP Technologies and on tour.
  • Update teams and on-water branding guidelines as required.
  • Act as a brand guardian for SailGP ensuring that all on-water and team deliverables meet league and team standards, increasing brand awareness through consistency and optimisation.
  • Reporting to Wing HoD and Design Director

About You:

  • Significant experience in sports and event branding or a similar field
  • Extensive vinyl installation experience
  • Strong budgeting and financial management skills
  • Experience managing partner relationships
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent performance under pressure
  • In-depth knowledge of vinyl graphic and signage materials, products and installation methods
  • Strong on-site team leadership experience
  • A good understanding of basic branding and design principles
  • Basic artworking and CAD capabilities would be advantageous.
  • Proficiency using Adobe Illustrator and Vinyl cutting software (e.g. Signlab, Easy Cut etc) would be advantageous.
  • Appreciation for accuracy and pays close attention to detail when handling key information
  • Proficient organizational, prioritization, communication and administrative skills
  • Able to communicate confidently and adapt communication style according to the needs of the stakeholder
  • Able to work independently but values working collaboratively as part of a team
  • Works effectively and enjoys a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to exceed expectations
  • Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders across multiple departments (global & local)



Location:

Southampton, United Kingdom, with event travel required. 

Hybrid working model with a minimum of 3 days per week in the Southampton facility.
